Hello Families,
This week has been a busy one with a lot going on! Graduation is right around the corner – we are looking forward to celebrating our 2021 graduates on Friday, May 28th, with no state constraints on our traditional ceremony! See this post for more details on graduation events.
Spring sports stayed busy, too. Baseball and softball both packed some big wins earlier this week! Golf has been on the road almost everyday and we have had a number of individuals score personal best along with both golf teams picking up some big wins. Track and field continues their success as the JH team wrapped up their season this week and the varsity prepares for sections with one more regular season meet next week!
Our fine arts department holds their final concerts of the year tonight and next week. Our older ensembles perform tonight at the Commencement Concert, and our younger ensembles perform on Monday evening for their Finale Concerts. Reserve your ticket to enjoy the shows!
We currently have waitlists for both Summer Enrichment Sessions and are considering how we can accommodate more students. These sessions will pack lots of fun with big games and activities in the morning, hands-on and creative learning in the afternoon, and several field trips to bring learning to life! Register today to hold your spot on the waitlist. We will notify families as soon as more spots become available.
Finally, I want to remind everyone of the schedule for next week as there have been some changes.
- Wednesday, May 26th we will honor the previously scheduled early dismissal. Students will be released at 1pm.
- Friday, May 28th is the last day of school. Students will be dismissed at 12 noon to kick off their summer. This is a change from the original schedule, so please be sure to mark your calendars.
We will be using the first week of June for intentional staff development to both conclude this challenging year well, and prepare to start next year strong. Thank you for your flexibility as we made this important adjustment to the calendar.
Have a great weekend – FIVE school days left until a summer packed with fun begins!
With Gratitude,
Shane Tappe
