On May 14th, Staples-Motley School District residents will decide whether to invest in continued improvements to our schools. This investment would repair and upgrade our school buildings to meet the needs of today's students and those who will follow for years to come.
The purpose of this website is to provide the information you will need to make an informed vote. This includes details about the needs of our students and our school buildings, how the plan was developed, details of the plan, and the tax impact on residents.
Investing In Future Cardinals!
With no major investments in our core educational facilities since 1987 at the High School (Auditorium 1991) and 1966 at the Elementary School (Early Childhood 1996), our facilities are not up to today's standards for safety, space, educational best practices or maintenance.
The School District spent over 2 years evaluating our schools’ needs and
receiving community input to help refine the plan. Thoughtful consideration has been put into correctly identifying the needs of our buildings.
Throughout the planning process, the District’s goal was to create a plan that
provides opportunity by removing learning barriers and promoting success for all
students. At the same time, we respect that local taxpayers fund the plan, so we
have worked to provide a high level of value for their investment.
